The JV and Varsity Lady “Cats” softball team brought a close to their seasons last Tuesday night with their annual season ending banquet, which recognizes team and individual performances, held at Sue’s Log Cabin off of 282.The Lady “Cats” finished the season with a record of 6-17, a winning percentage of .261. Coach Kim Charles elaborated on the fact that the team played well this season but had a lot of work to do this off-season. One improvement mentioned was that the team’s batting average needed to improve dramatically.

Defense was a strong point this season for the Lady “Cats” but Charles said that to be able to compete that the ladies would have to score runs and defend. Kim Charles will return next year to lead the Lady “Cats” into her second season as head coach with expectations high.

With only a few seniors graduating this year the Lady “Cats” will have a strong foundation to build off of with strong pitching and defense. The Lady “Cats” would like to thank Sue’s Log Cabin for their hospitality, great service and their always great food.
