After the election I went looking for a small business that was willing to take the risk and expand. Located in the Highlands Shopping Center, East Ellijay, I found Bill Craig, owner of North Georgia Diamond. Craig is doubling the size of the store to offer a larger line of jewelry, watches and accessories. Shopping for the perfect engagement ring? North Georgia Diamond will now have a room that couples can sit and review rings together instead of just over the counter.

When I asked Craig about expanding in this economy he told us,

“it’s the perfect time to expand.”

He went on to tell us that history shows the most successful businesses started in a down economy. Bill and wife Allison run the business together and it is a picture of what small business looks like.

Craig is working around the clock so North Georgia Diamond’s expansion will be ready for those black Friday shoppers looking to buy something for that special loved one.

Remodeled North Georgia Diamond set to open
EAST ELLIJAY -North Georgia Diamond is expanding their operation in East Ellijay. On December 4th 2004, North Georgia Diamond opened in The Highlands Shopping Center. The remodeled state of the art store will more than double in size to better serve their customers.
In 2004, North Georgia Diamond was a small company known for in store repairs and a small but growing selection of jewelry. The store sold jewelry, watches, and even some pottery to fill the showcases. Today, North Georgia Diamond has expanded to include loose diamonds, bridal designs, Citizen and Bulova watches, Vogue jewelry, Ray Ban sunglasses, as well as a wide array of silver beads and custom designs. North Georgia Diamond is the areas destination store for selling scrap gold, silver, or coins at the highest prices.
“This has been a very exciting journey for us” said owner Bill Craig. “The community has been good to us and this could not have happened without our loyal customers and the hard work of our staff. The new facility will allow us to raise our customer service experience to an even higher level. Customer service is key in today’s retail environment. The remodeled facility will feature a larger showroom to showcase the largest selection of bridal jewelry and loose diamonds in North Georgia as well as new product lines. The repair department will be outfitted with state of the art laser welding technology that will enable repairs on almost any type of metal. The repair department will also be doing eyeglass repairs. The new precious metals and coins department will handle all of your needs whether you are buying or selling.
Remodeling of the store has begun and is slated to be completed by in time for the Christmas season.
