The Gilmer High School Bobcats wrestling team traveled to Lake Norman North Carolina to take part in the Lake Norman Duals Tournament. The Bobcats placed first in the tournament with a 40-28 victory over Pinecrest.The Bobcats faced stiff competition en route to the first place finish: George Britt; Lake Norman; Fort Dorchester; Christiansburg; and the aforementioned Pinecrest.
Fort Dorchester is the defending South Carolina state champion. Christiansburg has won 12 straight state titles, and was ranked #8 in the nation. Gilmer won 46-25.
