It’s that time of year again. Everyone is making their way to various tax preparers in order to receive their annual income tax refund. With that in mind, Fetch sat down with Beth Bennett, an H&R Block Franchisee that has been in the business for over 15 years to hear the ways that they are here to serve you.FYN discovered that H&R block doesn’t just meet your tax return needs but that they also offer payroll services for all of you business owners out there.

“If you use us all year for payroll services, we have a large part of your numbers that we can import into your tax return, which makes it a bit easier for you at tax time”

Bennett said.

Bennett works behind the scenes at her four locations. She also helps to manage locations for other owners across the state. Currently, Beth is affiliated with three locations in the Ellijay area and one location in Chatsworth, Georgia.

When asked what she would like for the community to know about her business, she noted that the IRS just began having minimum requirements for their tax preparers.

“H&R Block has been a step ahead of the IRS when it comes to the experience and requirements of our tax preps. Our tax pros must take an 80 hour tax course and score 80 or above to be hired. Then they must go thru intense training and complete a minimum of 20 case studies to be prepared to do a live return. In addition to their initial training each tax pro must complete 15 hours of Continued Education Units every year. This is a new requirement dictated by the IRS, however H&R Block has always had this requirement in place to assure our tax pro’s are very knowledgeable and the most up to date on the tax laws”

Bennett said.
