Mrs. Christine Chastain Smith age 80 of Ellijay died Wednesday March 27, 2013.

Mrs. Smith was born on November 17, 1932 in Cherokee Co. She is the daughter of the late Rev. Herbert and Pluma Farist Chastain. She was a retired mail carrier and a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church. Beside her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Holt Smith, a brother Rev. Clyde Chastain and a son-in-law Mike Smith.

Survivors Include: Sons and Daughters in-law: Jerry & Cheryl Smith, White, GA, Dock & Pam Smith, Ellijay; Daughters and Son in-law: Judy Smith, Ellijay, Janice & Eddi Holt, Ellijay; Brother and Sisters in-law: Claude & Betty Chastain, Ellijay, Sally Chastain Shell, Canton; Sisters and Brothers in-law Carolyn & Harold O’Dell, Ellijay, Dot & Lloyd Cain, Ellijay, Alene & Lloyd Baugh, Smyrna, GA; 7 Grandchildren; 7 Great Grandchildren; Special Sitters: Diane Barnes, Mary Henson.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday March 30, 2013 at 4pm from the Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Chastain, Rev. Robbie Chastain, Rev. Joey Phillips & Rev. Alan Cain.

Interment will be held in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday March 29th from 1pm until 9pm at the Bernhardt Funeral Home.
