Willis Nelson (Willie) Elder, 78, passed away unexpectedly Thursday March 28th, 2013.
He was born in Interlaken NY to the late John and Izaretta Elder. For many years he owned and operated Elder Construction Company in Trumansburg NY, designing and building numerous beautiful homes and doing extensive home remodeling. He served his country in the Army military reserves from 1956–1964. Throughout his life Willie enjoyed playing golf and softball, woodworking, spending time working in his yard, and watching old Westerns. His witty humor was infectious (but not appreciated by all!) He was preceded in death by brother Cliff and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife Janet VanNess Elder; son Doug (Kathleen) Elder of Olathe KS, daughters Kim (Kevin) Coyle of Bethlehem GA and Lisa (Jeff) Lott of Brooktondale NY; grandchildren Matthew, Jonathan, Travis, Jamie, Jeff, Britni and Brindi; and great grandchildren Cameryn, Riley, Peyton and Mackenzi, brothers Gary (Dee) Elder of Albion NY and Stan (Sally) Elder of Buffalo NY.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday May 5th at the Cherry Log Christian Church in Cherry Log, GA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to FOGAS (Friends of Gilmer Animal Shelter) at P.O. Box 1454 Ellijay, Georgia 30540 in memory of Mr. Elder.

The family is receiving friends following the memorial service at the church.
