Mr. G. C. DeFoor, Jr. age 86 of Old Tails Creek Rd Ellijay died Saturday April 6, 2013.

Mr. DeFoor was born May 21,1926 in Gilmer County the son of the late Grant C. and Octavia Davis DeFoor. He was a retired Textile worker , a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, and a veteran serving with the US Navy in WWII and later in the US Air Force. He is preceded in death by his wife; Lois Cantrell DeFoor, Parents and three brothers; Olin, Charles and Ernest DeFoor.

Survivors include: Son and daughter-in-law; Keith and Cindy DeFoor, Young Harris, Daughter and son -in-law; Tina and Mike Lambert, Acworth, 5 grandchildren; Richard and Patrick DeFoor, Seth, Abbey and Kayla Lambert, Special friend Gilda Farist, Ellijay. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday April 9, 2013 at 2:00pm from the Old Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Edmund Miller officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery with military rites by the U.S. Navy.

The family will meet with friends Monday from 6 until 9pm at the funeral home.
