Community Charity Groups Receive Grant Funds from Faith, Hope and Charity

Sixteen community service organizations received grants totaling $117,500.00 during an awards presentation at FHC. Cheryl Zellinger, FHC Chairman, thanked the FHC volunteers for making this donation possible.

Tom Rippy, Business Manager and Barbara Murray, Store Manager, spoke to the service and dedication of the grant recipients. Most are all volunteer organizations serving specific needs of the client and community helping make Gilmer County a more productive community and a better place to live for all citizens.

These organizations service many needs in Gilmer County to fill the gap for citizens needing assistance. These services included help with family needs, education, rehabilitation, care for sick and elderly, and training.

Receiving grants during the ceremony were: Appalachian Children’s Center, Boys and Girls Club, Christian Learning Center, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Georgia Mountain Hospice, Gilmer Food Pantry, Gilmer Learning Center, Grace to Glory, Inc., Homeward Bound, Isaiah House, Ruth House, Safe Choice, Burnt Mountain Center, Craddock Center, Gilmer Arts, and the 507th Ellijay Civil Air Patrol Composite Squadron.
