Mr. Bill J Garland age 83 of Cartersville, formerly of Ellijay died Saturday April 20, 2013.
Mr. Garland was born September 26, 1929 in Gilmer county the son of the late Wes and Florence Holt Garland. He was retired from the textile industry, was a US Army veteran and of the Pentecostal Faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Evelyn Holden Garland, brothers: Buddy, Joe, and Briggs Garland, and sister: Mae Henson.
Survivors include: son; Darryl Garland, Cartersville, daughters and son-in-law: Vanessa and Hoyt Patterson, Gail Morrow, all of Cartersville, brothers: George Garland, Woodstock, John Garland, Chatsworth, Wayne Garland, Ellijay, sister: Ruth Starks, Ellijay. 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren,several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday April 23, 2013 at 2:00pm from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral home with Brother Michael Abernathy officiating. Interment will be in the Riverhill Baptist Church cemetery with military rites by the North Georgia Honor Guard.
The family will meet with friends Monday April 22, 2013 from 1 until 8pm at the funeral home.
