Our speaker for the Gilmer Rotary meeting on April 29th, was Ellijay’s new Chief of Police, Ed Lacey.Chief Lacey has been on the job since mid January of this year. Ed is a graduate of North Georgia College with a degree in criminal justice. Ed always wanted to be a police officer, and as he put it, he had a CALLING for law enforcement.

Chief Lacey has been working with his officers to develop the departments Core Values and shared a draft of these Core Values with our members. When these Core Values are finalized they will become the basis of the department’s Policy Manual.

Chief Lacy is an enthusiastic professional and is expected to take his department and its officers to even greater heights.
