Mrs. Audell Southern Reece, age 93, of River St., Ellijay, died Wednesday May 1, 2013.

Mrs. Reece was born November 11, 1919 in Gilmer County, the daughter of the late Johnson and Arminda Ralston Southern. She was a homemaker and buyer for Reece Brothers General Mercantile, was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church and loved to travel. She also had served over 5000 hours as a volunteer at the Gilmer Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Homer Reece, son-in-Law; Edsel Austin, sister, Tamer Southern, brothers, Elmer, Blumer, Raymond and Coy Southern.

Survivors include: daughters and son-in-law: Suelle Austin, Melba and Steve Mabry all of Ellijay, sister: Estelle Davis, Ellijay, 4 Grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday May 4, 2013 at 2:00pm from the Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. John Reece, Rev. Russell Burt and Suelle Austin officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery Fund 170 Dogwood Rd. Ellijay,GA 30536 in memory of Mrs. Reece.

The family will meet with friends Friday May 3, 2013 from 3 until 9pm at the funeral home.
