Aerospace Education and future career possibilities were evident as cadet and senior members of the 507th Ellijay Composite Squadron were hosted by members of the 700th Airlift Wing during tours of the C-130 Hercules flight simulator. They experienced hands on time in the pilot seat in very realistic flying demonstrations.
Later, members we privileged to participate in use of NVG (Night Vision Goggles) by members of the 90th Airlift Wing. Using the latest technology, each member briefly wore the goggles in simulated field conditions.
The final tour was a trip to the active flight line and a close-up view of an active combat ready C-130 aircraft. After a welcome by Colonel Trachick, Base Commander, members received explanations of equipment use and function, demonstrations of equipment and some hands-on activities were provided by the crew members responsible for the aircraft.
