Mrs. Mary Geneva Boen age 92 of Orange City, FL formally of East Ellijay departed this life Sunday June 9, 2013.
Mrs. Boen was born June 19, 1920 in Gilmer County the daughter of the late Lewis and Hattie Belle Tatum Coffey. She was retired from the University of Michigan, were she lived for many years. She returned to her home in East Ellijay where she lived until she moved to Orange City, Fl. While in Florida she was a member of the Palm Tree Missionary Church in Deland, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Boen and sisters, Buena Burnett, Bennie Lee Buffington, Virginia Helen Coffey, Ruby Coffey, brothers: Herbert Clay, Clarence and Jack Coffey. A granddaughter Kathleen her husband, John and their son John Reynolds.
Survivors Include: Daughters and sons-in-law: Tommie and Mark Wiseman, Ellijay, Brenda and James Jordan, Deland. FL. Grandchildren, Cynthia Jordan, Mark, Eric and Kristina Wiseman. Great grandchildren: Josh Reynolds, Angel Tyler and Garrett Wiseman. Sisters: Ora Belle Smith, Ellijay, Judy Jackson, Tennessee, Brother: Robert Coffey, Ellijay. Special Care givers; Karen Orrange, Susan Hopton, numerous other nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Thursday June 13, 2013 at 2:00pm from the chapel of the Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Cantrell officiating. Music will be by Irene Wofford. Interment will be in the East Ellijay cemetery.
The family will meet with friends Wed, June 12, from 4 until 9pm at the Funeral Home.
