Mr. William “Bill” Keener age 75 of Old Hwy 5 S. Ellijay died Sunday June 16, 2013.
Mr. Keener was born August 19, 1937 in Gilmer County the son of the late John and Susie Sutton Keener. Mr. Keener was self-employed and was active in sports, working with the Gilmer County Parks & Rec. in many different aspects. He also is best remembered for his interest in physical fitness, and could be seen running around the parks and streets of Ellijay.
Survivors include: wife June Silver Keener of the home, daughter; Debra Keener Schlenke, Ellijay, grandson and spouse; Craig Michael and Cheyrl Denise McPherson Schlenke, great-grandson Royce Keith Schlenke, brothers; Fred Keener, East Ellijay, Alvin Keener, Ellijay, sister; Bonnie Moss, Ellijay. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
