Garden Club of Ellijay hosted the Annual Summer Flower Show this weekend at Gilmer Arts and Heritage Association.The show featured educational displays along with beautiful and artistic floral designs.

The purpose of the Flower Show is to educate club members and the viewing public. It also provides an outlet for creative expression and to stimulate interest in horticulture.

Visitors were able to cast their vote for Best Exhibit and Best Horticulture piece. Judges from varies areas in the state also evaluated each piece based on their expertise in the field.

The Garden Club of Ellijay hosts two shows each year in the spring and summer. Below is a highlight video of the Song Of The South Flower Show along with a list of winners:

Ruth West won the sweepstakes for horfticulture. Kendra Boyer won the Award of Hort Excellence and Sharon Britton won the peoples choice award in horticulture and Kendra Boyer won the People’s Choice Award in Design.
