Mrs. Buren Gladys Davenport Tankersley age 87, of the Pleasant Hill Community of Ellijay, GA., passed on Friday, June 21st, 2013.She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Born June 9th, 1926, to her late parents, Virgil Fulton and Lora Alice Sumner Davenport in Ellijay, Gilmer County, Georgia. Mrs. Tankersley is preceded in death by her husband Reed Tankersley.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Sandra & Raymond Quinton of Jasper, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Martha Tankersley of Ellijay, Eddie & Sharon Tankersley of Ellijay and Gary & Evelyn Tankersley of Ellijay; grandchildren Rev. Chris Tankersley, Jennifer Staton, Danielle Epperson; great grandchildren J.C. Tankersley, Lauren Gibbs; sister-in-law China Davenport; nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 24th, 2013, from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Billy Emmett and Rev. Chris Tankersley officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 2 until 7p.m., Sunday, June 23rd, 2013 at the Logan Funeral Home and Chapel.
