Gurdine “Dolly” Pinson age 65 of Ellijay, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 29, 2013 with loved ones by her side after an extended illness. She was born January 28, 1948 in Gilmer County, Georgia, a daughter of the late Sam Pinson Jr., and Dessie Greenway Pinson. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Jimmy Hank Pinson and William S. Pinson. She worked at Mohawk Industries in Chatsworth, Georgia for thirty four years. She was an old time Christian and member of Little Baptist Church. She loved to sing for the honor and glory of her Savior Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her sisters, Betty Jean DeBoard, Christine Walker, and Frances Edmondson, all of Ellijay, Georgia, and Freida Johns of Chatsworth, Georgia; brothers Willard Pinson of Rocky Face, Georgia, Ernest Pinson and Johnny Pinson, both of Ellijay, Georgia;a number of nieces, nephews and a special great nephew Keith Hank Pinson of Chatsworth, Georgia; a dear friend Ernestine Mooney of Ellijay, Georgia and a very special best friend Judy Parks of Ellijay, Georgia.
Services to celebrate the life of Dolly Pinson will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at the Little Baptist Church with Reverend Brian Hensley, Reverend Roy Scott, and Reverend Jamie Kerr officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Ronnnie Wright, Johnny Scott, Avery Worthey, Clay Scott, Mark Waddell, and Steve Tipton serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Monday July 1st and Tuesday July 2nd from 4 p.m until 9 p.m. at the Logan Funeral Home.
