Alvin Keener : Obituary

Mr. Alvin Keener age 79 of Keener Ridge Ellijay died Friday July 26, 2013.

Mr. Keener was born July 25, 1934 in Gilmer co. the son of the late John Wesley and Susie Sutton Keener. He was retired from the State of Georgia DOT after 34 years of service and was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by a grandson Robbie Keener.

Survivors include: Wife: Lorena M. Keener of the home, Son and daughter-in-law: Andy and Rita Keener, Ellijay, Daughters and sons-in-law Linda and Billy Nicholson, Ellijay, Barbara and Dennis Strickland, Ellijay, Lisa and Wendell Kell, Ellijay, Brother and sister-in-laws: Fred and Carol Keener, East Ellijay, June Keener, Marie Keener, Whiz Keener, all of Ellijay, Sister and Brother-in-law: Bonnie and Charles Moss, Ellijay. 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00pm from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev..Wallace Parks, Rev. David Nicholson and Rev. Glenn Arnold officiating. Interment will be in the Liberty Baptist Church cemetery.

The family will meet with friends Sat from 3 until 9pm at the funeral home.
