Cecil “Chief” Cross, age 67, passed away at his residence on Dalton Street, Friday, July 26th, 2013.Chief had been suffering with a brief illness. He was well known around his hometown of Ellijay, not necessarily by name, but at least by sight. He was always a customary figure of the town, who was once featured in the National Geographic magazine. Chief was a member of Ellijay Church of Christ for several years.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 1st, at 6:30 p.m. from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel, with Min. Terry Stuart and Min. Butch Jones of the Ellijay Church of Christ officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ellijay Church of Christ Memorial Gardens, c/o the Ellijay Church of Christ, 351 North Main Street, Ellijay, GA 30540 in memory of Mr. Cecil “Chief” Cross.
Visitation will be held at the Logan Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until the service time.
