GA DOT Resumes Guardrail & Mowing Activities

PRESS RELEASE FROM GA DOT: GEORGIA DOT RESUMES MOWING ACTIVITIES ON 17 HIGHWAYS IN NORTHWEST GEORGIA. GA DOT also resumes repairing guardrails.
WHEN: Tuesday, September 17 through Friday, September 20, 2013 from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.
Georgia DOT’s maintenance crews will be mowing the roadsides of: Carroll County: State Route (SR) 61, SR 101 and SR 8 Chattooga County: SR 157, SR 48 and SR 337, Floyd County: SR 101, SR 293 and Highway US 27, Gilmer County: SR 52, Gordon County: SR 156, SR 136 and SR 136 Connector, Murray County: SR 225, Walker County: SR 151 and SR 136, weather permitting.

Georgia DOT Maintenance crews will resume work on repairing the guardrail along Highway 515 in Fannin County and mile markers 18 and 16 in Gilmer County. Work will proceed daily between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., weather permitting.

It is Georgia DOT position that guardrail maintenance and repair are essential to keeping our roadways safe for the traveling public. Our maintenance workers do their best to keep track of the damage to guardrails and make repairs as quickly as possible in order to preserve road safety.
