James L. Davis Sr. : Obituary

Mr. James Louis Davis Sr. age 63 of the Walnut Mountain community in Ellijay, died Tuesday Sept 17, 2013.James was born January 17, 1950 in Huntington WV the son of the late Emerson McMillin Davis Sr. and Mary Eleanor McDonald Davis. He was preceded by his wife Barbara Davis in 1995 and later married Paula Heacock Davis who survives. He worked at Eastern Airlines and the United States Postal Service and was a member of the Living Word Church of Jasper and a member of East Ellijay Baptist Church, Ellijay.

Survivors include: wife Paula Heacock Davis of the home, daughter Anita Kathleen Byrd, Charleston, WV, son James Davis Jr. Newnan, GA, Mark Andrew Davis, Woodstock GA step-daughter Denyel May Davis, Newman, GA, step-son Jerry James Davis, Williamson, GA. Sisters Jeanne Ann McClung, Barboursville, WV, Brother Emerson McMillin Davis Jr. Huntington, WV. Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, Cody Cribbs, Skylah Davis, Peyton Barman, Haley Davis, Marie Davis, Lillian Davis, Ethan Barman, Julianne Byrd, Penelope Byrd, Brooke Davis.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday September 28, 2013, from the East Ellijay Baptist Church with Brother Bob Self, Pastor Steve Fields and Brother Charles Church officiating. Interment will follow at Yukon Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday September 27, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00pm at the funeral home.
