When one thinks of Apple Festival, they immediately think of apples but, unless they know someone that is in the apple business, they most likely don’t think of all the hard work that goes into preparing for such a large festival. FYN spoke with Jill Wright of Aaron’s Apple House to see what their specifics of preparation are.
“We pick apples, grade them, get them bagged up and add them to our displays”
Wright said. Aaron’s also brings out their new canned items and fresh cider. Wright said that while she has been working with owners of the apple house, that she has noticed the most popular apples to be the September Wonder, which is an early Fugi apple, the Granny Smith, Golden Delicious and the Gala apple.
Aaron’s also offers pies, donuts, peanut brittle, vegetables, Georgia peanuts, molasses, biscuit syrup, honey, apple cider vinegar, boiled peanuts slushies and much more.
An interesting fact about Aaron’s is that it is the oldest apple house in Glimer County and previously owned by Jack & Dorothy Aaron.
