Mr. Leroy Arlin “Butch” Davis age 64 of the Northcutt Community of Ellijay, GA., passed on Friday, October the 4th, 2013 from his residence.A member of the Ellijay Church of Christ, baptized in 1962 by the late minister Warren Holloway. Born March 14, 1949 in Ellijay, Gilmer County, GA., to his late parents Kenneth Arlin and Ethel Smith Davis. He was a Gilmer High School graduate, and was employed as a supervisor at Badger Carpet. Mr. Davis served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to the Northcutt Baptist Church Cemetery Fund in care of Diane Mullinax at P.O. Box 502 East Ellijay, GA 30539 in memory of Mr. Davis.
Survivors include son Jeff Davis of Ellijay, GA.; grandchildren Savannah Woody and Jonathan Davis; sisters and brothers-in-law Sandra and Elmer Pankey of Ellijay, GA., Kathryn and Michael Watkins of Ellijay, GA., Donna and Robert Brumbelow of Cumming, GA., Pamela and Theodore Hall of Ellijay, GA.; brothers and sisters-in-law Jerry and Mary Davis of Chatsworth, GA., Ronald Davis of Ellijay, GA,; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Military memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 9th, 2013 from the Logan Funeral Home Pavilion with Minister Butch Jones officiating. Military rites will be performed by the North Georgia Honor Guard.
Family will receive friends following the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
