Nettie Long : Obituary

Nettie Ruth Samples Long, 73 of Ellijay, Georgia died on Thursday, December 5, 2013, at the Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Nettie was born on January 23, 1940 in Alpharetta, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Cleborn Samples and the late Nettie Spearman Samples. She graduated Milton High School, Class of 1958 and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church of Ellijay. Nettie worked many years at Orchard Junction convenient store along side her husband Felton. Preceded in death by sister, Pat Stanfield, brothers, Roystn and Bascom Samples.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Felton E. Long of Ellijay, GA, sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Lynn Long of Ellijay, GA and Gene and Allison Long of Ellijay, GA, grandson, Matt Long, brothers and sisters-in-law, Rev. A, M, and Viola Samples of Eton, GA, John Lewis and Myrt Samples of Canton, GA, Jimmy and Juanita Samples of Cumming, GA and Henry Clay Samples of Dawsonville, GA, sisters and brother-in-law, Sarah and Carl Christopher of Alpharetta, GA and Bernice Thompson of Cumming, GA. several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Sunday December 8th, 2013 at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rubin Smith, Mr. Phil Christopher and Mr. Dennis Vincent officiating. Interment will be in Green Lawn Cemetery, Roswell, GA. with Tony Samples, Scott Stanfield, Jason Stanfield, Curtis Goetsch, Ricky Christopher and Paul Samples serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, December 7, 2013, at the Logan Funeral Home, 357 Dalton Street, Ellijay, Georgia.
