Jimmy Butler : Obituary

Jimmy Rowe Butler, age 82, of Cherrylog, GA, passed from this life on Friday, December 6, 2013, at the Fannin Regional Hospital in Blue Ridge, GA. He was born June 15th, 1931 in Reidsville, GA., to his late parents Gussie and Gurtrude Lewis Butler. Mr. Butler was a self employed carpenter and served his country honorably in the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife; Joyce Butler; daughter and son-in-law Brenda Gail and Tommy Carter of Port Wentworth, GA.; sons and daughters-in-law Michael R. and Angie Butler of Savannah, GA., Gussie Darnell and Sheila Butler of Texarkana, TX., Edward Daniel and Vivian Butler of Savannah, GA.; step children and in-laws Faye and Donnie Jones of Ellijay, GA., Sue and Billy Wiley of Cherrylog, GA., Carol and Alan Champion of Ellijay, GA., Steven and Renee Holloway of Cherrylog, GA.; 7 Grandchildren, 3 Great grandchildren, 11 Step grandchildren, 10 Step great-grandchildren; sisters Loraine Butler Edwards of Clyo, GA., Barbara Butler Watkins of Ellijay, GA.; brother and sister-in-law Bob and Grace Butler of Texas.

Funeral service will be at Logan Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM, Monday, December 9, 2013, with Min. David Mullins officiating. A military graveside service will immediately follow in the Logan Funeral Home Pavilion, with military rites by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Interment take place at the Boardtown Church of Christ Cemetery, Cherrylog, GA.

Family will receive friends from 2:00pm until 8:00pm Sunday, December 8th, 2013 at the Logan Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Boardtown Church of Christ Cemetery Fund, c/o Shannon Bearden, 189 Chancey Rd., Cherrylog, GA. 30522, in memory of Mr. Butler.
