MSGT Herman Eugene Kenney, Jr. age 78 of Ellijay, GA died Wednesday January 8, 2014.Mr. Kenney was born June 4, 1935 in Statesboro, GA. He was a Deacon of the First Baptist Church of Ellijay, retired from the US Air Force as a MSGT and was an active member for 15+ years of the Gilmer County Lions Club. Mr. Kenney is preceded in death by his mother, Eunez J. Howard Roundtree and sister, Lynn Taylor.

Survivors Include: Wife, Doris J. Kenney & Daughter, Crystal E. Kenney, Ellijay; Daughter, Frances Kenney Morre & Grandson, Samuel P. Moore, Canton, GA; Son, and Daughter in-law Stuart and Pat Kenney, Woodstock, GA; and Brother, Lon Rountree, Jacksonville, FL; Brother-in-law, Phil Taylor, Ellijay, GA; Niece, Melonie Taylor, Augusta, GA.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday January 11th at 3pm from the First Baptist Church of Ellijay with Dr. David Drake officiating.

The family will meet friends Saturday January 11th from 2pm until 3pm at the Church.

Interment will be held later at the GA National Cemetery in Canton, GA with full Military Honors by the US Air Force.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund at 164 Dalton Street, Ellijay, GA 30540.
