Danny R. Hall Formally Announces Candidacy for Gilmer County Commission Chairman

Hello Gilmer County Danny R. Hall here. I’m announcing that I’m running for Commissioner Chairman, as I feel the Lord is leading me to do. It has been a privilege to serve the taxpayers of this county for the last 3 years; because as it has been said, this is the friendliest county in the country.
I truly agree with that statement and I cringe when we are compared with other counties. We are unique we have the most beautiful scenery in Georgia between the rivers, mountains, beautiful subdivisions, large tracts of government ground, farming land, industries, and any kind of recreation you want, the list is endless. These are just some reasons of why I would like to serve the taxpayers.

The question has been would I be qualified or experienced. I have been a boss since I was 19 years old. I have built roads and bridges. I helped widen I-285 & I-20 and helped build 515. The biggest operation was around 100 people and their equipment in Miami, FL. after hurricane Andrew. So I think with the help of our county employees we can do the job.

It’s never been the Chairman that did the job anyway he just makes major decisions along side with Post Commissioners. If any leader takes credit for the hard work of the employees of Gilmer County that would be in vain without them it doesn’t get done. I think I have ways to be a plus to the system so it won’t slow down the working man or woman. I can name numerous things Gilmer County has to offer and in every one of them there would be someone who would agree that they are great and in every one of them someone would turn their nose up at it, but it is all part of Gilmer County.

So we need to make the best decisions for all together, keeping Gilmer the most beautiful and friendliest county in America. I don’t think the best one for the job will run but I will do my best to be the best. This is nothing against J.C. he is an honest man. I feel I don’t have enough time as a part time Commissioner to accomplish the needs of this growing county and yes I believe we are growing again.
