Mrs. Marie Irene Norris, age 87 of Ellijay, Georgia passed on Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at the Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper, Georgia.She was born June 5, 1926 in Liberty, New York, and was the daughter of the late Francis Bischert and the late Irene Bloxham Bischert. She was a graduate of Liberty High School in Liberty, New York and was a retiree of North Georgia RESA. Mrs. Norris was a member of Cartecay United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her son, Lynn Michael Norris.
Mrs. Norris is survived by her husband of 67 years, Albert W. Norris of Ellijay, GA, daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Johnny Johnson of Ellijay, GA and Barbara and Jeffrey Foland of Vernon, Michigan, grandchildren Katie and Jim Gehringer, Dr. Walker and Kaitlyn Foland, Bradley Johnson and Parker Johnson, great grandchildren, Lydia Jane Foland and William Foland, sister, Mary McKeever of Bloomburg, NY.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 25th, 2014 at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rebecca Holmes officiating. Music and vocals will be by Mrs. Susan Hotchkins. A Graveside service will be held at a later date in the Liberty Cemetery in Liberty, New York.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 25, 2014, at the Logan Funeral Home. Flowers are accepted or donations may be sent to the Cartecay United Methodist Church at 7629 Hwy 52 East Ellijay, GA 30536 in memory of Mrs. Norris.
