Mr. Robert E. “Shorty” Driskill age 77 of Flat Branch Rd Ellijay died Wednesday February 12,2014 .
Mr. Driskill was born July 24,1936 in Ballplay, AL the son of the late Ralph Robert and Evie Iola Satterfield Driskill. He served in the US Air Force and worked in Construction owning Driskill Drywall. He also coached sports for many years. His parents, brother, Thomas Driskill and sister Sue Driskill preceded him in death.
Survivors include: Children and spouses; Steve and Karen Driskill, Ellijay, Joe and Mary Driskill, Decatur, Debra and David Wilson, Flower Mound, TX and Patti Hayton, Woodstock; grandchildren: Anthony Hayton, Nat Mashburn, Brittany Martin, Marcus Driskill, Tyler Wilson, Cayley Wilson. 2 great-grandchildren, sisters; Marie Hamrick, Ellijay,Louise Hendon, Smyrna, Linda Madden, Lake Hartwell. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Sunday February 16,2014 at 3:00pm from the Harvest Missionary Church with Rev. Russell Hood and Rev. Jessie Sisson, Jr. officiating. Interment will be in the Yukon cemetery.
The family will meet with friends Sat. from 3 until 9pm at the funeral home.
