Dale Ricks : Obituary

Dale Kay (Swanson) Ricks, 61 of the Cartecay Community, Ellijay, Georgia passed on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at the North Georgia Medical Center in Ellijay, Georgia.Born Friday, September 5, 1952 in Villa Rica, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Chester Russell and the late Clarice Weaver Russell. She was of the Methodist Faith and was a retiree of AT & T. She is preceded in death by brother Danny Swanson.

Survivors include husband of 10 years Larry Ricks of the home in Ellijay, GA.; daughters and son-in-law Melonie Dawn Williams of Argon, GA., Heather and Jason Bussey of Brookhaven, GA.; sons-and-daughter in law Michael Steele, of Greenville, SC., Chris and Elaina Steele of Douglasville, GA.; grandchildren and in-law Haley and Bradley Brown, Morgan Kay Williams, Payton Cooper, Ava Steele; great-grand child Cynthia Rae Brown; sisters, Gail Aiello of Conway, SC and Lynn Swanson of Tuscaloosa, AL.; brothers and sisters-in-law Jerry and Katherine Swanson of Silver Creek , GA, Stephen Phillip and Marcia Swanson of Dallas, GA.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 15th, 2014 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. James Cordell officiating.

Family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Friday, March 14, 2014, at Logan Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Children’s Defense Fund 25 E Street, NW Washington, DC 20001 in memory of Mrs. Ricks.
