Joyce Davis Walker, 68, of Newnan, Georgia passed away on April 19, 2014. She was born April 11, 1946 in Ellijay, GA to the late Arvil and Roma Davis. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles (Buddy) Walker, Sr. and her brothers, Jackie Davis, Vietnam War Hero Larry Davis, Jimmy Davis, Glen Davis and Buford Davis. She is survived by two children, Charles Walker, Jr. and Julie Hodges, three grandchildren, Lauren Hodges, Madelyn Walker, and Quinn Walker, her three sisters, Anne NeSmith, Merle Farist and Bea Rice as well as many other relatives and friends. Joyce was well known & loved as an Admissions Director at Christian City, where she served for 24 years.
A memorial service honoring Joyce will be held Sat., April 26, 2014 at 2 PM in the Chapel at Christian City in Union City, GA, the Chaplain Carl Ryden officiating. The family will be receiving friends and relatives beginning at 12:30 PM on Saturday.
An additional memorial service will be held 11 AM on April 24, 2014 in her hometown. This service will take place in the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home – 163 River St, Ellijay, GA.
