Richard Lester Covington, age 62, of Ellijay, Georgia died on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at the North Georgia Medical Center in Ellijay, Georgia.Born February 6, 1952 in Marietta, Georgia, he was the son of the late Doyle Covington and the late Bessie Freeman Covington. He is preceded in death by his son, Jeremy David Covington. Mr. Covington was a landscaper employed by North Georgia Horticulture.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Miriam Richardson Covington of Ellijay, GA, daughter and son-in-law, Christy and Greg Flower of Ellijay, GA, brothers and sister-in-law, Charles and Alice Covington of Waleska, GA and David Covington of Douglasville, GA, sister, Gail and Larry Daugherty of Waleska, GA. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday April 26th, 2014 at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Danny Barton officiating. Interment will follow in the Ellijay City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, April 25, 2014, at Logan Funeral Home.
