Gilmer High School held its annual Special Olympics Day with competitors from both the Gilmer and Fannin County school systems. The track and field competitions held were held at Huff-Mosley Memorial Stadium. United Community Bank provided food and drink.The Olympic Village theme was “A Royal Celebration.” The motto of the Special Olympics is,

“Let me win, but if I do not win, let me be brave in the attempt.”
