Richard Allen Combs, age 59, of Ellijay, GA, passed from this life on Thursday, May 29, 2014, at his residence in Ellijay, GA. Mr. Combs worked in Civil Service for the U.S. Government for over 30 years, and retired as Director of M.W.R at Ft. McPherson, GA.
Mr. Combs was born April 28th, 1955 in Salisbury, NC to his late parents James Dakota and Elenor Ruth Potts Combs. Richard graduated from the Bradwell Institute High School, Class of 1973 and continued his education at Georgia Southern University where he earned his B.S. degree.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Caroline C. and Matthew Hoffman of Cumming, GA; sons, Richard Allen Combs, Jr. and Kiel Graham Combs, both of Atlanta, GA, granddaughter, Charlette Hoffman of Cumming, GA; brothers, James Dwight Combs of Albuquerque, NM and Jon Eric Combs of Huntsville, AL.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, June 7th, 2014 at Flat Creek Country Club in Peachtree City, GA.
