Miss Mary Sue Ballew age 75 of Smyrna, Ga died Sunday July 6, 2014.Miss Ballew was born May 21, 1939 in Gilmer County, the daughter of the late Arthur and Etta Starks Ballew. She was a graduate of Gilmer High School, Class of 1957. She attended Georgia State University and worked as an accountant for Post & Associates, CPA’s in Marietta for over 45 years. Mary was a member of Woodstock First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Gladys Reece. Survivors include her brother, Hayden Ballew of Atlanta, and sisters, Louise Ballew, Smyrna, Jo Ann Mager, Ellijay and Carolyn Willis, Blue Ridge. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 pm at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. John Bramlett and Rev. Edmund Miller officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The Gilmer High School Class of 1957 is requested to serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will meet with friends Wednesday from 12 noon until 1:30 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 115 Pleasant Grove Road, Ellijay, GA 30540 in memory of Mary Ballew.
