Ellijay City Council Plans Demolishment of Abandoned Dwellings on McCutchen Street

Two Ellijay houses are slated for demolition by the city of Ellijay. Both homes are on McCutchen Street across from Harrison Park. An effort will be made to notify the property owners by certified mail. The dwellings will be torn down by the city 60 days after the certified mail receipt, should the property owner fail to respond to the city’s correspondence.

The city will seek reimbursement for the demolition costs by putting a lien on the properties.
