George Edward Holloway: Obituary

George Edward Holloway, age 86 of the Boardtown community, Ellijay, Georgia passed on Wednesday morning, July 23, 2014, at the Gilmer Nursing Home.Mr. Holloway was born on March 20, 1928 in Holden, West Virginia to his late parents Robert Jackson Holloway and Bessie Azalee Allen Holloway. He was a member of the Ellijay Church of Christ and worked as a truck driver in the construction industry. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Macedonia Church of Christ Cemetery Fund, P.O. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Geneva Bell Rogers Holloway of the home in Ellijay; daughters and sons-in-law, Glenda and James “Jim” Stanley of Henderson, TN and Judy and Sammy Wright of Ellijay, GA; Son and daughter-in-law Michael “Mike” and Willa Mae Holloway of Ellijay, GA; Grandchildren, Michelle S. McCaskel, Cindy S. Dove, Heather S. Scrolls, Jonathan Stanley, Kimberly W. Covington, James Holloway, Melissa W. Massingale, Joshua Wright, Jennifer H. Painter, and Jason Holloway; 14 Great grandchildren; Sisters, Loretta H. Jenkins and Eunice H. Puckett, both of Cherrylog, GA; Brothers, Clay Holloway of Bowdon, GA and Quinton Holloway of Ellijay, GA .

Funeral services will be held at Logan Funeral Home Chapel. Interment service will be in the Macedonia Church of Christ Cemetery, Blue Ridge, GA.

Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. Thursday, July 24th, 2014
at the funeral home.
