Mr. Robert Timothy Coates, age 71 of Ellijay formerly of Palm Coast, Florida died on Sunday, July 27, 2014, at the Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper, Georgia. Born May 24, 1943 to his late parents Robert Earl Coates and Arline Leanhardt Coates in Cleveland, Ohio.He was employed by Coronado Paint as a manager in the Transportation Industry. A honorably discharged Vietnam veteran that served his country in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Coates was a member of the American Legion and loved his family and his dogs.
In Lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Homeward Bound Pet Rescue at P.O. Box 792 Ellijay, GA 30540 in memory of Mr. Coates.
Memorial Services are being planned for a later date.
Surviving are his wife of 17 years, Sue Coates of Ellijay, son, Brian Coates, daughter, Laurie Minek, 3 grandchildren, brother, Terry Coates all of Ohio.
