Mr. Milford Alvin Farist: Obituary

Mr. Milford Alvin Farist age 96 of Ellijay, GA died Thursday August 14, 2014.Mr. Farist was born March 12, 1918 in Gilmer County to the late Emory and Maude Waddell Farist. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and was the oldest Deacon of the church. He is preceded in death by his wife, Irene Stover Farist.

Survivors include; son and daughter in-law Emmett and Janie Farist, Ellijay; daughters and sons in-law, Lorene and Jessie Mullinax, Ellijay, Kathy Weaver, Ellijay, Shirley and James Parks, Peachtree City, Jewell and Donald Peeples, Sharpsburg, GA; brother, James Farist, Ellijay; sisters, Bernice Garrett, Fairmont, Eunice Davenport, Ellijay; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday August 16th at 2pm from the Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. Monroe Gunter, Rev. Russell Burt, Rev. Emmett Burgess and Rev. Calvin Grogan officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday August 15th from 3pm until 9pm at the Bernhardt Funeral Home.
