Mr. Robert L. Gaddis age 70 of Blackberry Mt. Rd Ellijay died Saturday August 23, 2014.Mr. Gaddis was born December 15, 1943 in Gilmer County the son of the late Lee Edd and Carrie Proctor Gaddis. He was a graduate of Gilmer High School, a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church, veteran serving with the US Army and member of Oak Bowery Lodge# 81 F&AM. He worked for Gilmer County Court system as a Bailiff.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Farist Gaddis, son and daughter-in-law: Tim and Kim Gaddis, Marietta, 2 grandchildren, Nicole and Daniel Gaddis. Brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Preston and Fran Farist , several nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday at 2:00pm from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Russell Hood and the Honorable Brenda Weaver officiating. Entombment will be in the Yukon Cemetery with military rites by the North Georgia Honor Guard.
The family will meet with friends Monday August 25, 2014 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at the funeral home. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to Gideon’s International P.O. Box 1704 Ellijay, Ga 30540 in memory of Mr. Gaddis.
