Mr. Franklin “Frank” Delano Whitaker, age 81 of Jasper, Georgia passed on Saturday morning, August 16, 2014, at his residence.Frank was born December 14th, 1932 in Ellijay, GA to his late parents Theodore Roosevelt and Jessie Pless Whitaker. He was of the Baptist faith and worked as a sheetrock finisher for Bennie Whitaker Construction.

He is preceded in death by his sons, Marlan Whitaker, Benny Whitaker, and David Thomas Whitaker; Daughter, Patricia Thomas; Sisters Jean Weeks, Jessie Mae Payne, Florence Chapman; and Brother Sam Whitaker.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Fannie Mae Davis Whitaker of the home in Jasper, GA; Daughters and son-in-law, Judy W. White of Blairsville, GA and Sherri W. and David Terry of Panacea, FL; Sons and daughter-in-law, David and Gloria Whitaker of Jasper, GA and Paul E. Whitaker of Jasper, GA; 10 Grandchildren; 10 Great grandchildren; Sisters; Irene Rogers of Jonesboro, GA, Betty Carrol, Dessie Whorley of Ellijay, JoAnn Cowart of Chatsworth, GA, Wanda Patterson of Cherrylog, GA, Sue Long of Chatsworth, GA; Brother, John Whitaker of Ellijay, GA; Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, August 19th, 2014 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Emuel Sanford officiating. Music and vocals will be by Irene Wofford. Interment will follow in the Lake Forest Memorial Park in Jasper, GA. Pallbearers will be James Long, Jerry Patterson, Gary Cowart, Lee Stephens, and Teddy Whitaker.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Monday, August 18, 2014, at the Logan Funeral Home.
