Daily Prayer: 09/26/2014

“What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that. As it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil. So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.” James 4:14-17.Almighty Father, man who is in your image has long been trying to be you. Even the angels have tried to do this. Remind us that even though we are your chief creation, we are just a moment in time when compared to eternity and only a mist of vapor when compared to your power.

The boasting of a hard heart must seem so foolish to you and it is. So help us to be understanding of your great grace that is so freely bestowed in Christ in whose name we pray.
