Gilmer Genealogical Society Presentation

The Gilmer County Genealogical Society is hosting Tony Lett. Mr. Lett will speak on the article he wrote for Georgia Backroads about his search for his great, great, grandfather who was killed during the Battle of Atlanta. It is an interesting detective story.
Lego Club

Legos are just cool. Join us for another meeting of the Gilmer County Library’s Lego Club. We provide the theme and the Legos. You provide the imagination. Bring your children to come have some fun and create something brilliant, and we will proudly display their creations.

Adult Lunch and Learn Knitting & Crocheting

Bring your brown bag lunch, needles and yarn to the Gilmer County Library. Lauren Cape and Lynda Decker will be your host and teacher. Already know how to knit, come for the fun! If you are unable to attend a meeting, come when you can, you don’t have to be at every class. If knitting, bring #8 needles and yarn of any color. If crocheting, bring G or H hooks and Peaches & Cream cotton yarn of any color.
Teen Knit and Crochet

Learn the basics or if you already know how to knit or crochet come work on a project with us – bring our own knitting needles or crochet hook and yarn – ages 12 years and up.
The Bookshelf
This week the Bookshelf is featuring an unusual group of biographies, the lives of famous writers. Agatha Christie’s mysteries are familiar to everyone, but her own story? Interesting writing comes from an interesting life. Come find out about Joel Chandler Harris, Ms. Christie, and many other famed authors.
Don’t forget to pick up a stash of magazines for road trips, a true bargain at $.25 each. Magazines are displayed on the rack outside the Bookshelf and in the non-fiction “back room” as well.
Bookshelf hours are from 10:30-5:00 on weekdays and from noon-2:00 on Saturdays.
