Mr. Wilburn “Slim” Hughes age 72 of Ellijay, GA died Thursday October 9, 2014. Mr. Hughes born November 24, 1941 in Fannin County to the late Andrew and Gertrude Lillie Hughes. He worked for the City of Ellijay as a Police Chief and he attended the New Visions Pentecostal Church. He is preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Hughes.
Survivors Include: daughters and son in-law, Lisa and Jeff Wolfenden, Cleveland, TN, Samantha Hughes, Atlanta, GA, Sabrina Hughes, Ellijay, GA; step-sons, Gerald Gibson, Ellijay, GA, Jessie Lance and Anna Conor, Ellijay, GA, Austin Lance, Ellijay, GA; sister, Ellen Melton, Copperhill, TN; 3 grandchildren, Jennifer, Devin and Madison; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday October 11th at 3pm from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Pastor Irene Wofford officiating. Interment will follow in the Jarrett Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday October 11th from 12pm until 3pm at the Bernhardt Funeral Home.
