The Republican Party of Gilmer County has opened its 2014 campaign headquarters at 100 N. Main Street in downtown Ellijay. The headquarters occupies space next to the Artisan Gifts and Silver shop, whose owners donated the space to the GOP. The headquarters will be open Thursdays through Saturdays (and Sundays during the Apple Festival) from 11 AM – 5 PM through the General Election on November 4.
The headquarters will not only have yard signs and bumper stickers for candidates, but also sample ballots.
“We’re working to provide information to voters on all the Republican candidates who are running, and the sample ballot has been a great way to do that,”
said Gilmer GOP Chairman Sally Forest, adding that
“… it’s important to vote the entire Republican ballot, and sometimes voters don’t do that because they are not familiar with the names, but those races are also important, particularly for Richard Woods, the Republican candidate for State School Superintendent. We’ll help answer any questions.”
The Republican Party of Gilmer County is the official organization representing the GOP in the county. Its primary mission is the election of Republicans to public office. Meetings are open to all and are usually held the second Tuesday of every month, excepting November and December.
