Mrs. Joan Madelyn Anderson Baxter, age 83, of Key Largo, Florida and Ellijay, Georgia died Monday October 20, 2014 surrounded by family at the Gilmer Nursing Home. Born July 6th 1931 in Chicago Heights, Illinois to her late parents Muir and Madelyn Gordon Anderson. Joan was a member of St. James the Fisherman Episcopal Church in Plantation Key FL and a graduate of the University of Chicago School of nursing. Joan retired after 30 years of service with the Tavernier FL U.S. Postal Service.
There will be a Celebration of Life with family in December in Atlanta, Ga.
Joan is survived by her three sons and step daughter and six grandchildren; William and Jessie Baxter of Ellijay, Ga. (Will, Richard, Clara, Lucas, Bianca), Andrew and Lisa Baxter of Key Largo, Fl.(Andrew, Kendyl), Richard and John Baxter Stoner of Atlanta, Ga.(Aja), and Carol Dahlberg of Luling, Tx.(Matt)
