Mrs. Dorothy Sanford age 81 of Ellijay, GA died Sunday October 19, 2014. Mrs. Sanford was born December 19, 1932 in Copperhill, TN to the late Roy Lee and Eunice Elizabeth Wright Dean. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Jerry Sanford and Roy Rice, sons, David and Denise Rice, brother, Glen Dean, great grandson, Justin Rice.
Survivors Include: sons, Darren and Dwayne Rice, Ellijay, Ga; daughters, Darlene Carroll, Blairsville, GA, Donna Beasley, Ellijay, GA; Step daughter, Betty Johnson, Ellijay, GA; brothers, Arnold Dean, Dalton, GA, Gene Dean; David Dean, Farner, TN sisters, Evelyn Underwood, Farner, TN, and Ruth Kidd, Decatur,TN; 7 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 1 step grandchild; special friend, Betty Hernandez.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday October 23rd at 4pm from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Pat Shelton officiating. Interment will follow in the Yukon Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday October 23rd from 10am until 4pm at the Bernhardt Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Dorothy Sanford Memorial Fund % Bernhardt Funeral Home at P.O. Box 466, Ellijay, GA 30540.
The family request no food be brought to the funeral home.
