“Behold also the ships, which though they be so great and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm,… even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things.” James 3:4So often, our Father, we wait for the big things that shape our lives when it is really the small things that have great power. What we say can so powerfully affect our course and can steer us into the ports of good or into the ocean of evil.

Teach us to guard our speech by permitting you to have control over our hearts from which our speech proceeds. Help us to steer ourselves by self control and the spirit of kindness.

We do not boast of anything save only our position of grace in Christ where a thousand tongues are not adequate to sing His praise.
