William “Bill” London Godwin, age 86 of Ellijay, Georgia passed on Friday, November 7th, 2014, at his residence.He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Mr. Godwin was born on Tuesday, September 18, 1928 in Smithfield, North Carolina. He was a graduate of the University of North Carolina earning a B.S. Degree in Accounting and was employed by Brigadier Industries. Mr. Godwin served his country honorably in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Ann Grant Godwin of the home in Ellijay; daughter and son-in-law Sharon and Gary Tam of Harlem, GA; son and daughter-in-law Steve and Gail Godwin of Conyers, GA; seven grandchildren,; 4 great grandchildren; sister, Hazel G Peedin of NC.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday November 12th, 2014 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Ellijay Branch, with Bro. Steve Godwin, Pres. Ryan Boland and Pres. Stephen Posey officiating. Mr. Godwin will lie in state from 10:00 am until 10:30 am. Interment will take place in the Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens in Thomson, GA.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, November 11th, 2014, at The Logan Funeral Home in Ellijay.
