“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the spirit of God; for they are foolishness unto him.” I Corinthians 2:14O God, whose understanding is limitless, we ask for wisdom to understand the deep things of your world. To us who know you, your word is a light unto our path, but to those who do not know you it does not make sense. Only as the Holy Spirit reveals it to us do we understand. How thankful we are that every time we read your Holy Book, you speak to us. In your word we find the greatest love story ever recorded – Your love for a sinful world. Help those who read and do not understand to know that if they will come to the cross in repentance and faith and receive Jesus Christ as personal Saviour, then your word will begin to unfold before them. May each of us apply ourselves in diligent study so we may know you better.
Grant to this person who seeks spiritual discernment before your throne just now the message from your book that will meet life’s needs today; through Christ our Lord.
